The nature reserve at the eastern shore of Lake St. Lucia is 30 000 Hectares in size and reaches north past Cape Vidal. There are Hippos, Crocodiles, and several Antelope species, Buffalo, Leopard and Elephants to see. The game ranger station is situated near Mission Rocks where wilderness hikes commence. The easiest trail is the Guided Wetland Walk. Guided by an armed ranger it goes through coastal forest, swampland and grassland.
